Province carries out extensive Men-C awareness

THE Ra Provincial Council is placing more emphasis on creating awareness about the meningococcal disease.
Roko tui Ra Mosese Nakoroi said they had issued awareness notices to people with regards to precautionary measures.
“We are trying to get the message out to our district representatives and villagers,” he said.
“We want people to be aware about the symptoms and the way the disease spreads so they can be cautious.”
Mr Nakoroi said the big focus in the province was the provision of safe drinking water and promoting healthy living among the community members.
“This is not just in villages but all settlements, informal as well. We are trying to promote healthy living to control diseases like typhoid and dengue fever.”
