THE Bottega Fijian Fashion Festival held its first model casting for the 2019 fashion year at the University of the South Pacific’s(USP) Oceania Centre in Suva today.

More than 100 interested models turned up to showcase their modelling skills to make the final cut for the main event scheduled for June later in the year.

The prospective models walked in front of a panel of judges led by Fashion Council of Fiji chairperson Faraz Ali and international model Phillipa Steele, where they were assessed on their walk, posture, attitude and confidence.

Mr Ali said the response they had received had been tremendous.

“We are really encouraged by the response today. We have selected roughly 70 models for round two,” he said.
