THE Nausori Magistrates Court has asked Police prosecution to liaise with relevant authorities to get an accused back to Fiji to serve his sentence.
This was ordered by Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne while sentencing a 67-year-old man to three years imprisonment in absentia for two counts of indecent assault.
Magistrate Somaratne said according to the court records, the man had left the country and his last known address was in Canada.
The man had indecently assaulted a 10-year-old and a 22-year-old girl when they had come to his shop in Nausori by touching them indecently.
The court heard that he wanted to have sex with the 22-year-old girl.
Both the incidents occurred on December 1, 2013, in Nausori.
A non-parole period of 30 months has been set.
