Proposed party faces hiccups

INDEPENDENT candidate in the 2014 general election Roshika Deo’s efforts to collect signatures to register her political party ahead of the 2018 polls has hit a hurdle.
In an interview, Ms Deo said the proposed Be The Change party experienced setbacks in the Western and Central divisions.
“Proposed Be The Change party is committed to getting registered in readiness of future elections,” she said.
“Our signature collection efforts in the Northern and Eastern divisions have been promising.
“We experienced some setbacks in the Western and Central divisions, however, we have and continue to re-strategise and are back on track.”
Ms Deo said the effort of setting up a party was a long-term vision.
She expressed her gratitude to all the hardworking women, young people and men who have been collecting signatures.
