PROCEEDS from the Vodafone Fiji’s text and win promotion held during the Friendly North Festival this year will go towards the committee’s biggest project — the Northern Dialysis Centre.
Festival committee trustee Hazim Hussain made the statement at the handover of a $80,000 Toyota Hilux vehicle to promotion winner Parvin Lata at the Asco Motors showroom in Nabua, Suva yesterday.
Mr Hussain said the dialysis centre was the only one in the country that provided a $75 subsidy to dialysis patients.
Meanwhile, Mrs Lata, who is an academic at the University of Fiji, said she had been taking part in almost all the promotions run by Vodafone but had never been lucky enough to win any prize.
“Even with this promotion, I was not expecting to win but this has come as a pleasant surprise and I am excited to be announced the winner,” she said.
Mrs Lata said she had texted about 10 times and had been lucky to drive away in the $80,000 vehicle.
