The Savusavu Tourism Association anticipates a promising tourism year especially from June.

STA executive Delia Rothnie-Jones said since the borders re-opened in December they’ve had a healthy number of tourist visits with a very busy Christmas and New Year period.

“We’re expecting continued increases especially as we move into the main tourist season from June onwards,” Ms Rothnie-Jones said.

“The bulk of our arrivals are from Australia, although different resorts have different profiles and Namale Resort in particular has a strong US visitor profile.”

On the leisure and sightseeing activities for tourists, Mrs Rothnie-Jones said such programs were fully opened to visitors.

“Now that we have reached the required level of vaccination coverage, all activities are fully open,” she said. Other hoteliers in Savusavu have seen positive results since COVID-19 quarantine measures were eased.
