HELP us to help those in need.

This was the message from Ba Farmers Carnival committee secretary Ravneel Datt.

“We are a one hundred per cent community-based carnival. Every cent we make, minus expenses, is used to assist the poorest and most needy in society.

“Last year we raised $15,000 and this money was used to purchase school stationery and accessories for children from very poor families who are identified through schools and government agencies.

“We also helped families who had lost homes and belongings to fire and other natural disasters.”

Six contestants representing the cane belt sectors are vying for the Miss Ba Farmers Carnival crown.

Miss Rarawai Sector is Nalani Victoria Kant, Miss Veisaru Sector Miriam Andrea, Miss Mota Sector is Losalini Manamanakitoga, Miss Varoko Sector is Sheetal Sharma, Miss Koronubu Sector is Priyanka Sanjeevni and Miss Varavu Sector is Taraivini Nakure. Tonight is Youth Night at the festival.
