PRIORITISE and support children in their education.

This is the message by Save the Children (SC) Fiji CEO Iris McKenzie to parents and guardians in this school year.

Ms McKenzie said they were seeing children after school, selling food in key spots around Suva.

“We are pleading with the families and guardians of the children to please keep children off the streets during the school term,” she said.

“They should be supported at home to do their homework and they should be getting the right amount of rest and nutritious food to allow them to be productive in school.”

In 2018, SC Fiji supported 945 (479 boys and 466 girls) children through their education assistance.
