Priest accused of sexual abuse

Another Catholic priest is facing child sexual abuse allegations in Guam.

Adrian Cristobal, who is now a priest in Arizona, is accused in a lawsuit of molesting an altar boy at a parish from 1995 to 1997.

In one case, the plaintiff claims he was abused right after a funeral mass.

Guam’s Archdiocese told the Pacific Daily News that it’s recalling Mr Cristobal to the island.

The Catholic Church on Guam is facing more than 160 lawsuits alleging sexual abuse of young boys stretching from the 1940s to the 1990s.

Last month, a secretive Vatican trial found the archbishop of Guam, Anthony Apuron, guilty of “certain accusations” related to the sexual abuse of minors.

Mr Apuron plans to appeal against that ruling.
