In an effort to promote Fiji as an outsourcing destination, the Fiji Government has launched its publicity on “Exploring Outsourcing in Fiji – EXO Fiji” to be held at the Sheraton in Denarau in June next year.
“Prepare to explore the business landscape of Fiji, where innovation meets paradise. Whether you are a seasoned industry professional or new to the world of outsourcing, the ‘EXO Fiji’ event has something to offer everyone,” said Minister for Trade and SMEs Manoa Kamikamica at yesterday’s announcement of the event.
“EXO Fiji is not just about forging business connections, it is about fostering an environment where economic growth is synonymous with social progress – and our skilled workforce is a testament to our commitment to innovation and our pool behind economic development.”
He said through the event, businesses would be able to witness Fiji’s efforts in technological advancement through the showcasing Fiji’s robust ICT infrastructure which presently provides a solid foundation for businesses currently outsourcing to Fiji.
“From seamless connectivity to state-of-the-art IT solutions, our infrastructure ensures that Fiji stands as a competitive outsourcing destination, capable of meeting the demands of digital economies,” Mr Kamikamica said.
“The Fiji Government has embarked to provide the necessary IT solutions and advancements such as our partnership with Google to establish a major subsea cable project to enhance digital connectivity between the Pacific and rest of the world that was announced last week,” he added.
This, he said, is “supported by policies that adapt to the evolving needs of businesses in a dynamic global landscape and promotion of economic diversification”.
There are presently 34 companies in Fiji’s outsourcing industry collectively employing around 8000 people and contributing over $200 million a year to the Fijian economy, according to Outsource Fiji.
