Update: 7:31PM THE Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) says it will not make any further comments on allegations of rape against a group of soldiers who allegedly raped a female soldier while on duty.
RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto said the RFMF would not make any further comments as investigations into the alleged incident had started.
Last Saturday, The Fiji Times reported the confirmation by RFMF chief of staff Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai that the RFMF was aware of the issue and a preliminary investigation had started.
He had said that the female soldier had lodged a report with the organisation of the alleged incident that occurred last month.
Brig-Gen Kalouniwai had said they would release an official statement once they completed preliminary investigations.
