A TOTAL of 16,209 people are expected to cast their votes at 128 pre-poll venues throughout the country today.

This was confirmed by the Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem during a press conference in Suva as pre-polling heads into its third day.

As of yesterday, he said they had covered more than 200 polling venues throughout the country.

Mr Saneem said so far they have not found difficulties in reaching out to polling stations and that the total number of people eligible to vote for pre poll this year was 69,472 compared to 66,389 in 2014.

“This is not 2014 where voters had only six months to find out where they are voting but this time around since February and right now, they have had the opportunity to check where they are voting so there should be lesser excuse of voters not being able to vote in polling stations,” he said.

Mr Saneem said they had all records of information they shared to the public and a record of their work on a daily basis.
