Power supply to be fully restored this evening in Navua

THE unplanned power outage this morning in Navua was due to a vehicle colliding with an EFL power pole on Queens Road Highway.

Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) Chief Executive Officer, Hasmukh Patel said the outage had affected the supply of electricity to the following areas:

Waikalou, Beqa Place, Nakaulevu Subdivision, Nasasa, Sadro Road, Nasau Village, Vunibau Village, Chandar Bhan Subdivision, Tiri Villas Beach Resort, Raith Holdings Subdivision, Grace Road Food Company Limited and part of Queens Road from Ranadi Plantation to Sadro Road.

“In order to safely carry out repair works the following areas had to be isolated while repair works were being carried out,” Mr Patel said.

The remaining affected areas are:

Part of Queens Road from junction of Nakaulevu Road till junction of Sadro Road including, Vunibau Village, Nasau Village and the Grace Road Food Company Limited.

He said repair works on the broken power line is expected to be completed by this evening and power supply fully restored.

“EFL kindly requests drivers and machine operators to exercise caution while driving and maneuvering vehicles to avoid causing damages to EFL assets resulting in power outages.”
