Pound for pound boxing bonanza for fans

A pound for pound boxing rematch looms between Nadi’s Ronald Naidu and Lautoka’s Ratu Rakuro in the Kiran Boxing Promotion main bout this weekend.

The two boxers drew in their last meeting and they will be using this bout to determine the real winner.

Naidu, who trains alongside the country’s middleweight champion Siliveni Nawai is eager to prove his worth against Rakuro.

He said he had been training hard for the fight and was going for a knockout win.

“I know what to expect from him because we have fought once” said Naidu.

I have been training hard and I have to fight hard to secure a knock-out win.

“Rakuro is a good fighter and he will also be out for a win.”

Naidu thanked his sponsors Black Accessories and Mana Flyer for supporting his career.

Promoter Ben Krishna said the fight would be a thriller as both boxers would be desperate for a win.

“This fight will settle the score as who is the real winner,” he said.

“We are pleading to the boxing fans to come out in huge numbers and watch one of the best fights this season.”

Meanwhile, in the main supporting bout Lautoka’s Franco Fraser will face Krishna Mudalliar in the 6x3mins round.

Krishna’s brothers Sachin and Krishneel Mudalliar will battle against Savenaca Goneva and Ritesh Gounder respectively while Rahul Aaron Kumar to battle Junior Wahid Khan in the 58kg 6x3rounds.

In the 4x3mins round Felix Williame Chongsue will fight Saula Naicori, Jonasa Kavika against Rupeni Rasaku, Mosese Tuinanua meets Asivorosi Turaga while Katrina Singh faces Elenoa Nataniga in the lone women’s bout. The program will be held at Tilak High School hall in Lautoka on Saturday.
