Poultry project provides jobs

THIS project provides an opportunity for young people to participate in the economic empowerment of their community and provide self-employment opportunities.
Mister for Youth Laisenia Tuitubou made the comment after a youth poultry project for in Taci Village, Rewa has received financial support from the Chinese embassy last week.
This assistance was facilitated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
“It is also an avenue for our rural based youths to participate actively in these sorts of initiatives as they provide a training ground for future leadership roles, self-employment and productive use of resources,” Mr Tuitubou said.
He added the project would assist rural-based youths to take up leadership roles in ensuring the sustainability of the project.
“I encourage the youths of Taci to make the most of the kind assistance provided by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China,” he said.
The ministry will support and monitor the project as it develops.
The ministry’s divisional manager central Iowane Soko, also encouraged youths from Taci to pursue their dreams.
“I encourage you young people to look after your project well, secure its sustainability by meeting regularly, co-operate in the general maintenance of your poultry project,” he said.
