A total of 46,680 visitors arrived in Fiji in April this year.

This latest figure from the Fiji Bureau of Statistics was welcomed by Tourism Fiji chief executive Brent Hill who stated he was thrilled and optimistic with these numbers.

“We’re beginning to see more travellers come to Fiji as restrictions lift and I would like to think that all our collective hard work at marketing Fiji is paying off!,” Mr Hill said.

“We continue to get great feedback from our trade partners and industry that Fiji is one of the top destination for consumers to travel to in 2022!

“These awesome results follow the completion of our annual Fijian Tourism Expo (FTE) 2022 last week and I’d like to extend a word of thanks to all tourism industry partners and stakeholders for their contribution towards its success.”

Mr Hill said a small team of talented individuals delivered a world-class three-day exchange at the Fiji Golf & Beach Resort on Denarau Island in Nadi, the first face-to-face event held in the country since 2019.

It attracted over 91 international buyers and trade media from 11 countries who met with the 83 exhibiting companies from Fiji in a total of over 2667 confirmed meetings.

Mr Hill said it’s a mammoth task to organise such a huge event and the tremendous support from sponsors and partners allowed this event to success.

“The event was a huge success and I have already begun to see the media coverage and articles on Fiji being published and once again, Fiji is in the spotlight.”
