Political party leaders taken in for questioning

National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad and Unity Fiji Party Leader Savenaca Narube were released from police custody in the last hour.

They were taken in for questioning at the Criminal Investigation Department this evening in Toorak, Suva.

Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu confirmed they were taken in for questioning but didn’t state the reasons.

Speaking outside the CID headquarters, Mr Narube said he was questioned for comments about a Bill.

Meanwhile, National Federation Party MP, Pio Tikoduadua is currently in police custody.
