Update: 1:58PM STUDENTS turned the flooded areas into playing fields with rugby being the common sport among every group of children.

Along the flooded Soasoa Road, students from Vunivau and Cawaira skipped breakfast for a swim in flooded waters.

This has sparked concerns from Police in Labasa who are urging for vigilance over the safety of children and family members.

Divisional Police Commander North SSP Verani Nakauyaca called on all parents to keep their children indoors and ensure that they stay away from flooded waters.

Floodwaters have begun to recede in most affected areas of Labasa.
