POLICE will closely monitor operations at business houses in Vanua Levu to ensure COVID-19 measures are stringently observed.

Despite the normal movement of daily commuters and business operations in the North, police have remained vigilant after the development of COVID-19 cases.

Police officers have been visiting business houses in the towns of Labasa, Savusavu and Naqara in Taveuni reminding them about the importance of observing the COVID-19 protocols.

Police spokeswoman Savaira Gonedua said police officers started their visitation on Tuesday advising shop owners and staff members about the measures.

“We will continue to monitor the operations of business houses in ensuring that all measures are being adhered to,” she said.

“All those wandering in town or with unnecessary movement will be asked to go home.

“We are relying on these measures and adhering to the advice from relevant authorities so we can save lives and keep Fiji safe.”
