The Fiji Police Force made a clean-sweep of the 2019 Sukuna Bowl rugby league challenge winning both the senior reserves and premier challenge at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.
The Police Sharks beat the Army Bears 20-4 in the first match before taking the main game 28-14 retaining the titles they lost last year.
“The team came with a mission and we achieved that,” said Police half back Jonetani Tuvasu.
The Bears struck first through fullback Goneirogo Matanisiga with the conversion unsuccessful by halfback Komai Ligava.
Police struck soon after with tries from winger Filipe Sauturaga and Tuvasu who added the extras just before the break.
The men in blue added three more tries and a conversion in the second half to cement the win despite Army scoring two tries and a conversion to shorten the deficit.
