The Fiji Police Force Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho thanked Total Energies Ltd for its support as a sponsors for the Police Ratu Sukuna Bowl rugby team.

The company presented $15,000 to the team for its buildup to the 70th FMF Ratu Sukuna Bowl challenge next month. Qiliho thanked the gesture by the company in helping members of the force enjoy one of their annual sporting highlights.

“We are always on the receiving end of criticism when something goes wrong but when things are going right we hardly get open appreciation like what you have done today,” Qiliho said.

“Thank you so much and we thank Total Energies for jumping onboard with us sponsoring the major rugby team.

“We’ve sat back, watched and read the media about sponsorships going to the other teams and we envied it. We are truly thankful that Total Energies saw it and made the wise decision to come and appreciate Police’ work and to sponsor the champion team.

“Your sponsorship will certainly energise this team as we roll into December and to the main battle.

“Thank you for bringing in positive energy. We won’t let you down and we certainly, with that energy you share with all Fijians, will be a positive one as we go in to that Ratu Sukuna Bowl battle.

“The challenge is there for us with Total Energies. The men are out there training and we will give them all the support and that we go out there in the day of battle to win.”

Company managing director Dennis Michaels presented a $15,000 sponsorship cheque for the running of the Sukuna Bowl competition.

Michael commended the hard work that the Fiji Police Force has done, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown.
