THE Fiji Police cricket side is hoping to end its Ratu Sukuna Bowl losing streak and secure a win in this year’s cricket event.

Team manager Inspector Viliame Soko said they had been able to recruit impressive cricket players who they believed would be able to take the team to victory.

“We were able to get some good cricket players to play for the Police side through the ‘Community policing through sports’ program, and these players are also police officers so it is an advantage for us,” he said.

The Police team is hoping to win this year’s cricket match as they are also hosts of the 2019 Sukuna Bowl.

“We have been training and after being defeated by Army, we have put together our resources and have come up with a very good team to challenge the champion team and with the theme of this year’s Sukuna Bowl, we hope this year will be a good one for us,” said Soko.

Cricket will be held tomorrow at Albert Park in Suva.

“We wish both the teams the best and hope the community will come down to support us, and through this year’s theme, hope the military will help the police in the fight against drugs,” said Soko.
