POLICE Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says the Fiji Police Force is awaiting the publication of their revised election handbook as they work towards ensuring that this year’s general election would be a safe one for all Fijians.
“2018 is projected to be an extremely busy year for policing, with the upcoming general election as well as routine policing and we are ready to ensure that all Fijians are able to exercise their fundamental right to vote,” Brig-Gen Qiliho said. “We are now in the process of printing our handbooks and will commence training soon in preparation for that. We are ready for when that time comes around, we are ready to be able to posture ourselves positively to ensure that everybody exercises their right to vote.
“We’ve done it a few years ago and there were lessons to be learnt from that and that’s what we will improve on this time around,” he added.
He had earlier said the entire force would be involved in this year’s general election.
