Police raid farmer’s home; confiscates parcels of dried leaves

A MAN is now in police custody after he was caught with 20 parcels of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said they had also confiscated $5000 from the 27-year-old farmer during the arrest.

Ms Tabua said the Southern Division Drugs Team was tipped off about the incident and had raided the man’s house at Sukanaivalu Road in Delainabua.

“The suspect is in custody awaiting drug analysis report,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Police Chief Operations Officer ACP Maretino Qiolevu is thankful to those who assisted officers in terms of sharing information.

He has reassured members of the public that any information provided during tip-offs is classified as confidential.
