OFFICERS from the Police Special Response Unit that were deployed at the STAR Printery will now be redeployed to beef up security at the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) headquarters.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Maretino Qiolevu said police operations at the STAR Printery have ended.

He said they will now focus on shifting back to the FEO headquarters as well as other security duties overseen by the Fiji Police Force during this election period.

“Since October 1, PSRU officers have been deployed to the FEO headquarters,” ACP Qiolevu said

“Over 2000 officers will be deployed specifically for the Election operations while the remaining officers will focus on routine operations.”
