Police, Navy in talks to salvage vehicle from river

Update: 5:10PM THE Fiji Police Force is seeking the advice of the Royal Fiji Navy on how best to salvage the vehicle, which a family of four were travelling in when they disappeared on April 19, 2006.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the
Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho is holding talks with
Navy top man Commander John Fox.
Work on salvaging the taxi from the Navua
River would begin tomorrow.
“The Commissioner of Police has stressed to
his officers that he wants to retrieve as much of the vehicle intact so that
investigators are able to examine it and find answers to what happened and
bring some closure to the victim’s family,” Ms Naisoro said.
Davendra Kumar, 42, his wife Nirupa Devi, 32, and their two
children Dipshika Kumar, 9, and Edwin Kumar, 3, were last seen at 9pm leaving the
Emmanual Assemblies of God church in Navua in the taxi Mr Kumar was driving.
