NADI Police are investigating a case of an alleged suicide where the victim is an 8 year old child.
The matter was reported to Police by health officials from the Nadi Hospital after the victim was brought to the hospital on Friday night.
The alleged incident occurred at Solovi in Nadi.
The victim was playing with his brothers and other children and was asked to come inside to have his bath and get ready for dinner.
After some time the relative looking after the children could not find the victim and went to look for him.
Moments later, the relative heard his brothers calling for help and rushed to where they were, and found the victim motionless after allegedly taking his own life.
He was rushed to the Nadi Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain cause of death as investigations continue.
