Police have yet to identify the driver of the vehicle that was allegedly involved in the fatal accident that killed a 31-year-old iTaukei man in Saweni, Lautoka, around midnight Monday.
Spokesperson Savaira Gonedua confirmed the driver was yet to be identified as investigations continued.
The victim, believed to be a soldier, was found lying in a pool of blood near the Saweni Service Station in Lautoka.
Police stated a post-mortem examination would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
The national road death toll stands at 14 compared to 27 for the same period last year.
