PORT MORESBY, 22 FEBRUARY 2019 (POST COURIER) – The PNG Hunters are into rebuilding stages, says coach Michael Marum.

“We are rebuilding the side this season and we are working really hard to make sure they (players) go out and compete in each game,” said Marum.

He said they are not looking too far ahead at the points table or the finals.

According to the Queensland Intrust Super Cup 2019 gains and loss stats, Hunters recruited a bulk of a new playing group from the Digicel Cup and PNG Rugby Football League confederates to boost their campaign.

They are Gairo Kapana, Epel Kapinias (Rabaul Gurias) Shane Haro, Kevin Appo (POM Vipers) Joe Joshua, Junior Rop (Lae Snax Tigers) Daniel Tapol, Jerry Teme (Hela Wigmen) Brendon Nima, Nick Hasu (Goroka Lahanis) Joe Frank (Waghi Tumbe) Woods Kawage (Enga Mioks) Rex Kaupa (Southern Confederate) Justin Yoka, Jordon Pat (Highlands Confederate) Bland Abavu (Fassifern Bombers) Jack Oii (POM RFL).

The presence of senior players in the team like Adex Wera, Stanton Albert, Moses Meninga, Enock Maki and Abavu instills that extra spark for the young talents to gain confidence and execute a team effort.

Currently, there are 31 players in training camp.
