PM visits Fijian-run kindergarten

Update: 11:20AM PRIME Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday visited the first and only pre-school facility in New Zealand that is run by the Fijian community.
The Bula Centre Kindergarten in Auckland educates students in both curriculum and also culture, blending Fijian and Maori.
Mr Bainimarama thanked the teachers for their efforts in helping their children maintain their culture and tradition in New Zealand.
He also thanked the students for their performance and urged them to be good citizens.
Meanwhile, kindergarten chairman Nacanieli Yalimaiwai said the visit by Mr Bainimarama was testimony to Fijians living in New Zealand on the importance of education placed by Government.
“It is an important part of the development of Fiji and the visit here by the PM is further testimony of the commitment of the Prime Minister not only to Fijians but also education as a whole,” Mr Yalimaiwai said.
