PM: Get organised

VILLAGE co-ordinators and village headmen in the country have been advised to familiarise themselves with government’s assistance schemes and programs, including those outlined in the national development plan and the annual budget.
Speaking at Vuadomo Village in Savusavu yesterday, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said it was important for villagers to get organised and map out their development strategies using their natural resources and collective strengths available to them. “Liaise regularly with provincial administrators for advice and solutions to complement your development strategies,” he said.
“With the general election scheduled for later this year, I would encourage those who have not registered to do so.
“Otherwise, they will be disappointed and will have to wait for another four years to cast their votes.”
Responding to this statement yesterday, Vuadomo Village administrator Sakiusa Cama said it was the duty of administrators and village headmen to bring their villages and communities in line with government’s intents.
Mr Cama said it was a good reminder for village administrators because they failed to execute their duties most of the times.
“It is a wake-up call for most of us,” he said.
