PM Bainimarama arrives in Tuvalu for PIF leaders meeting

FIJI’S Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has arrived in Funafuti, Tuvalu, for this week’s Pacific Islands Forum leaders meeting.

Mr Bainimarama is attending the PIF leaders meeting after more than 10 years.

He is accompanied by the permanent secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Yogesh Karan, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs official Esala Nayasi.

The Pacific Islands Forum meeting will be officially opened on Tuesday evening, and the meeting proper will begin on Wednesday.

Mr Bainimarama is also expected to open the climate change meeting tomorrow.
