Uto Ni Yalo Trust co-founder Collin Philp is in critical condition in Australia and in need of lifesaving surgery.

Mr Philp’s daughter, Maria Philp, made a plea for help for her dad’s medical treatment on social media yesterday, to raise funds through an online community funding platform.

She said he was in dire need of a liver transplant.

“We are fundraising for our dad, Colin Philp, who is in dire need of a liver transplant in Australia,” she said.

“He is currently on kidney dialysis and ventilation to keep him alive.

“The money raised will help cover medical costs and ensure that he gets the help he needs to make a full recovery.”

She said her family understood that the pandemic had adversely affected every person, both mentally and financially, and that any amount, no matter how small, would be a major help. ”

Your generosity and kindness will not go unnoticed.”

Mr Philp is an ocean activist, sailor, surfer and paddler and has been deeply involved with organisations such as the Suva Harbour Foundation, the Uto Ni Yalo Trust and the Fiji Outrigger Canoeing Association.
