Planned power outages for Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki and parts of Lautoka

ENERGY Fiji Ltd has advised its customers that its will be carrying out emergency repair works on its EFL’s 33,000 Volt Transmission Lines that transmits power from the EFL Vuda Zone Substation to Rarawai Zone Substation
According to a statement from EFL, the repair and maintenance works is required to ensure reliability and security of power supply to the Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki areas.
In order to carry out the repair and maintenance, EFL engineers will need to de-energise the 33,000 volts transmission line from the Vuda Zone Substation to Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki, and parts of the 11,000 Volts Distribution lines in the Lautoka areas from 8pm tonight (Thursday November 29) to 2am on Friday November 30, 2018.
As a result, there will be a planned power outage affecting EFL’s valued customers in Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki and parts of Lautoka.
Works are planned to be carried today due to the urgency of the situation.
The general public has been warned by EFL to treat every power line a live and to stay clear of all power lines as circumstances may cause power line to be electrified at any time.
EFL has apologised for any inconvenience caused and customers are advised to contact EFL on 132333.
