The People’s Alliance (PA) party will tone down its political activities for the rest of the week to allow the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) to clear the areas of concern it is investigating in relation to the FijiFirst party complaint.
The People’s Alliance party leader Sitiveni Rabuka said his interview with FICAC yesterday was in relation to investigations currently in progress into allegations of possible breaches of the various regulations that govern political activities in Fiji.
In a news statement, the PA leader said he went into FICAC yesterday morning unaware of what to expect but said the officers were very polite and informed him that some members of the party maybe called in for questioning.
“They told me about the two that they have started questioning, that’s Sajal Narayan and Lynda Tabuya, and they want me to know that they will be calling some more, or they may be calling some more people,” he said.
“They just want us to cooperate and I told them that we will cooperate.”
Mr Rabuka has advised party members and officials not to worry and cautioned them to be careful when they ventured out.
