Pearls shine early

The Fiji Pearls netball team overcame a strong Singapore side last night after winning 50-47 in Suva.

The Singapore side had a good start in the first quarter of the game leading 15-10.

However, the Pearls quickly regrouped and added 11 more points to the their score sending the team off to a 26-22 lead at halftime.

Fiji maintained its lead in the third quarter before sealing the night with a win.

Fiji Pearls coach Unaisi Rokoura said the girls did their best. She said they would polish their weakness before they head into their next game on Wednesday.

Singapore coah Annette Bishop commended the Fiji Pearls for a strong game.
