Pearls fail to shine

The Fiji Pearls lost to Botswana 43-60 during the opening round of the Nations Cup in Singapore on Sunday.

The Unaisi Rokoura-coached side is participating in the tournament as a build up towards next year’s Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Nation’s Cup is being played after a lapse of two years because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The national team, which is ranked 13th in the world, will now face the host nation, Singapore A, Malaysia and Ireland.

Meanwhile in other results, Singapore beat Ireland 47-45 while Singapore A beat Malaysia 51-39.
