‘Passion, discipline will reward’

Passion, discipline and hard work will allow you to succeed.

These were the sentiments shared by the President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, to the members of the national women’s cricket team as they presented their itatau at State House in Suva yesterday.

While addressing the team, Ratu Wiliame wished them well on their journey to the inaugural Pacific Cup in Vanuatu.

He thanked the team for their hard work in the lead up to the competition next month.

“There is great reward in being passionate about the sport you play – doors of opportunity will open for you in employment, education and other avenues,” he said.

“You only need to work hard for what you desire through the sport.

“Play your hearts out and play to the best of your ability. Do not let any negativity get in the way of your games. We the nation are with you in your journey and we wish you all the best on your trip.”

The team will play against Samoa, Vanuatu and the Cook Islands.
