The Fijian Parliament will convene today.
A statement on its Facebook page said the House will sit from today to Friday and from Monday, May 31 to Friday, June 4.
For the first time, the sittings will be conducted virtually with parliamentarians either attending in person or connecting remotely.
The statement said this was unanimously agreed by the Business Committee.
An Order paper released last night said there would be ministerial statements and consideration of Bills but it did not specify which Bills these were.
Motions listed for debate include the Review of the Audit Report of Municipal Councils of 2013 and the Review of the Public Service Commission Annual Report 2014.
National Federation Party general secretary Seni Nabou said the agenda was “disorganised”.
“There is no clear agenda to discuss the present crisis,” Ms Nabou claimed.
“The Government is talking about a guarantee of a loan.
“They are talking about debating some old statutory body reports and passing new laws about political parties.
“We are in the middle of a COVID crisis that is worse than last year.
“The Government does not want to talk about how to help people without food and necessities.
“It does not want to talk about the problems of small business or unemployment.
“It does not want to share its plans for further lockdowns or containment.
“It does not want to tell us about Government finances.”
