The New Zealand High Commission’s commitment to developing Fiji’s future leaders is appreciated.
Leadership Fiji board chairman William Parkinson made the comment at the handover of a $20,000 cheque to the program by New Zealand acting head of mission Michelle Podmore.
“We appreciate the New Zealand High Commission’s commitment in developing the future leaders of Fiji and their belief in our vision to develop and enhance the quality of leaders in Fiji,” Mr Parkinson said.
He also said the program celebrated the contribution of its alumni to the country and hoped to one day establish a leadership centre.
“Leadership Fiji turned 20 in February and this year we will celebrate and reflect how far we have come as an organization and the contribution of our now 470+ Alumni to our communities and country.
“Our big dream is to one day establish a Leadership Centre and own our own home. We will get there some day and are grateful for the support of all our partners and sponsors who believe in us.”
The Leadership Fiji Program allows members to explore their own values, philosophies, prejudices and beliefs through a variety of issues offered by the program and also offers, direct interaction with current leaders across the private sector, civil society and Government.
