Pan Pacific Swimming Championship: USA’s Bacon looks to break 100m record

SOME interesting finals have been lined up this afternoon at the 2018 Junior Pacific Swimming Championships underway in Suva.

In the women’s 100m backstroke event, USA’s Phoebe Bacon will be looking to break the Pan Pacific record after matching the time in the heats earlier today.

She clocked 59.72 seconds equalling the old record and will be eyeing to go a step further and break the record.

Not far behind was her team-mate Katharine Berkoff who clocked 1 minute 0.3 seconds.

The 100 backstroke finals begin at 5.14pm at the National Aquatic centre this afternoon.
