Pacific TAFE CEO receives award for outstanding contribution

THE hospitality industry in the Pacific is growing and is poised to create far greater employment opportunities for many Pacific Islanders.

This was the view of the chief executive officer of the University of the South Pacific Pacific TAFE, Hasmukh Lal who received the prestigious Fellow of The-Ice Award 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Mr Lal received the award during the 12th International Panel of Experts.

Mr Lal said the establishment, development and expansion of tourism and hospitality programs of Pacific TAFE were founded on a commitment to high quality and standards.

He adds that almost all Pacific TAFE programs are either nationally or internationally, accredited with two programs in the process of review for accreditation.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Learning, Teaching and Student Services, Professor Richard Coll said he is delighted that Mr Lal’s hard work, dedication and tireless commitment to excellence has now received international recognition.
