SAIPAN, 01 JUNE 2020 (POST COURIER) – The 2021 Pacific Mini Games is likely to be delayed, says Pacific Games Council chief executive officer Andrew Minogue.

“(The) 2021 Pacific Mini Games are now likely to be delayed from June 2021 due to the Olympic Games now falling in July 2021.”

Minogue said they are working with hosts in Saipan (Northern Mariana Islands) on an alternative date for next year’s Pacific Mini Games.

It will also be another historical sporting event for Northern Mariana Islands to stage the 11th edition of the Pacific Mini Games.

Asked also to provide updates on how much infrastructure and venues development for the 2023 Solomon Islands Pacific Games, Minogue said it is on track.

“Solomon Islands 2023 are on track with venue delivery agreements now in place with China and also with Indonesia for the vast majority of the Games venues,” said Minogue.
