PACIFIC-RAISED Australian actor Jamie Coffa is set to portray one of the most infamous bushrangers in history in a film set to release in December this year.
Coffa says the film, The Legend of Ben Hall, is set in the mid 1860s and follows the final few months of real life outlaw Ben Hall as he and his gang committed crimes while travelling the countryside in New South Wales, Australia.
“I spent my first 17 years living in the Pacific. In fact my first memories are of life out there,” Coffa said.
“Even though I am of European heritage, the Pacific is my home and I consider myself an Oceanian actor.
“My parents were involved in elite sport so I travelled the region with them and lived in Fiji, Nauru, Samoa, Guam and New Caledonia.”
Coffa said he returned to Melbourne, his birth place, in 2012 to pursue a career in acting.
He said his time in the Pacific region helped him prepare for his role
“The Pacific is so rich in culture and its people are some of the best storytellers around.”
