NATIONAL swimming reps Matelita Buadromo and Herbert Rabua will lead the Dolphins club at the long course prix in Australia next weekend.
Manager David Eyre said the duo were both in the shadow squad for the Commonwealth Games.
“Both national reps are in Gold Coast, Australia as part of their preparations towards the games next weekend.
“We had trained through the Christmas period, so our fitness level have been maintained,” he said.
“Our senior squads are training up to 10 times a week which included yoga and land training.
“Getting the kids ready during the back to school period had been one of our challenges, but the team have done well to keep training through this without missing so much.”
Formed in the 1970s, but later revived in 2013, the Dolphin club has produced many national reps.
The club head coach is Sharon Smith with Carl Probert and Dennis Miller (FINA vice-president) as members.
Eyre said their aim was to keep their 49 swimmers competing all year and also look at grooming upcoming swimmers who could break into national teams.
“We have 49 swimmers registered with the club which includes five masters swimmers who are all over the age of 30 with the oldest being 54,” he said.
