A Lautoka man’s last word to his younger brother, Mosese Coriakula, was “to get some rest”.

Later that day, Tomasi Coriakula received word that “Moji” (Mosese Coriakula) died after he fell from the electrical post he was working on.

“Our hearts are shattered,” said Mr Tomasi. According to Mr Tomasi, the victim was dearly loved by his family.

“He was always happy and made everyone around him happy.

“He loved to sing and every time we heard him sing, it always made us happy. We are seven brothers and the youngest were twins. One of them was Moji.”

The New Zealand resident said the 25-year-old was supposed to celebrate his first year as an apprentice with Energy Fiji Ltd later this year.

“I was an apprentice as well for EFL and I was always looking out for him when it came to his work.

“He followed in my footsteps and I wanted to see him succeed in this job.”

Police investigations into the incident have begun.

A police report confirmed Mosese’s death adding that he was working at a private residence when the accident occurred.

He was rushed to the Lautoka Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
