Oral health and faith

FIFTY women leaders from faith-based groups were invited to a World Oral Health Day workshop organised by the Health Ministry in Suva on Monday.

Speaking to The Fiji Times, medical superintendent Dr Luke Nasedra said they hoped participants would reach out to the communities they worked in and inform them on what they had learnt during the workshop.

“We have the faith-based women leaders who are closely connected to the communities,” he said.

“So I think through that connection, they will take the message and learning from today and spread them to people in their community.”

Dr Nasedra said other health divisions were also engaging faith-based leaders to commemorate World Oral Health Day on March 20.
