TODAY’S opening session of Parliament has set the tone for the Opposition, says Opposition Leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

The former prime was officially elected and sworn in as Opposition Leader in Parliament this morning.

He said the 24-member Opposition made up of the Social Democratic Liberal Party and the National Federation Party was a robust one and he was confident that they would make an effective and robust contribution.

“There has been a lot of change especially the language on the first day, so we hit the ground running,” he said.

“That’s the way it will be. I expected that because they know we have a very credible Opposition.”
