Some members of the Opposition are in Sigatoka visiting the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) farm at Nacocolevu.

TTM technician team leader Andy Chiang said the relationship Taiwan shared with Fiji dated back to 1971.

He said the sole purpose of TTM in Fiji was to assist and train farmers in the production of various crops ranging from sugarcane, papaya, watermelon, and other vegetables including the high-valued guava and dragon fruit.

He said the newly-introduced guava and dragon fruit not only contained high nutritive value but were also popular among Fijian consumers.
