Opposition leader renews call for justice

Update: 8:06PM LEADERSHIP of the Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa has renewed her call for justice over the issue of publicly provoking ethnic antagonism.
In a statement, Ro Teimumu said she was earlier critical of the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) for broadcasting what she described as ethnic slurs against indigenous Fijians.
The State broadcaster had come under the spotlight for statements made on one of its educational shows Wasea Bhasha towards the iTaukei community.
She has called for action by the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Police and Media Industry Development Authority.
Ro Teimumu said while this was not the first time the broadcast media, added “there was no escape for three Opposition MPs who were banned from Parliament for comments that, in my view, pale in contrast to the latest performance of the FBC”.
